Below are instructions on how to subscribe to a mailing list.
Option 1:
Send an e-mail to "listname"-subscribe@listar.hi.is (type the name of the list you want to subscribe to, without the quotation marks, instead of "listname").
Example: If you choose to subscribe to the list hi-starf you send an e-mail to: hi-starf-subscribe@listar.hi.is
Then you will receive an e-mail from the list where you will need to confirm your subscription by answering the mail or click on a link given in the mail.
Option 2:
You can also go to the list’s subscription page by visiting the following link where you type the name of the list in the end: http://listar.hi.is/mailman/listinfo/listname
Example: http://listar.hi.is/mailman/listinfo/hi-starf
You need to register on the list in the column “subscribing” and type the following information:
- Your e-mail address: your username@hi.is
- Pick a password: pick a password (use a different password then for Ugla)
- Reenter password to confirm: retype the password
- Click "Subscribe" after you have finished typing the information.
In a short while you will receive a mail from the list e.g. hi-starf@listar.hi.is
The only thing left to do is to click “reply” and “send” and you should receive a mail informing you of the registration to the mailing list.
