There are several different ways to connect to the network of the University:

Connect to the wireless network, eduroam, on campus
If you have a computer, tablet or a cell phone with a wireless network-card you can get access to the wirless eduroam. Users are able to connect two devices to the wireless network at the same time. Click here for further information on eduroam.

Connect to the network with cable
Most employees of the University have their work stations connected to the network with a cable. Workstations are usually registered with a fixed IP address. Employees can apply for an IP address in Ugla. Click here for further information on how to apply for an IP address.

Student housing network
Students living in the student housing (Stúdentagarðar) have access to free Internet by cable. Click here for further information on the student housing network.

Connect with VPN from anywhere
You can connect to the network of the University (HInet) with VPN connection from almost anywhere in the world as long as your computer has an Internet connection. Click here for further information on VPN connection.

Connect with ADSL at home
In order to connect directly to the network of the University from home you need to apply for an ADSL connection in Ugla. The ADSL connection also requires an active ADSL line from a phone company (Síminn/Vodafone) but the traffic goes through Division of IT. Click here for further information on ADSL connection.
